Course Description:

Over 2 to 3 days we will review course materials and perform dives necessary to certify divers. The e-Learning portion is self-study and performed prior to attending the first day of class. The e-Learning portion is included in our price. Upon completion of the AOW e-Learning, you will join your PADI Instructor in our classroom and on our boat where we review the learning portion and then start diving.

Two required dives are designed to demonstrate the effects of diving deeper (100ft/30m) and navigating the underwater world. The remaining dives will help build skills that are important to you. The first mandatory dive is diving to 100ft/30m. During this dive you may experience the effects of diving deeper (nitrogen narcosis). You will notice air consumption is increased (increased depth, increased atmospheric pressure, increased air consumption). The second mandatory dive is navigation. During this session you will learn compass navigation. Compass navigation is designed to teach the basics of navigation to return to your starting point.

Upon completing the two required dives, you will be able to choose from three specialty areas to improve your skills. These introductory dives will give you insight into the specialties offered by PADI. You will be able to choose from the following:

• Peak Buoyancy
• Drift Dive
• Night Dive
• Boat Dive
• Wreck Dive
• Photography (participants will need to have their own camera)
• Nitrox Diving

Prerequisites:

• Be at least 12 years old (12 to 15 years of age will receive JR Advanced Open Diver)
• Have completed the Open Water Diver course or any equivalent certification from other recognized agencies.
• Completed the Advanced Open Water eLearning Course.
• Sign and Complete Advanced Open Water Diver Waiver and Submit Medical History
• One parent signature to complete Waiver and Medical History (If younger than 18 years old)

Boat description

• Our boats have ample shade from the sun and will have you arriving at the dive spot quickly so you can get in the water. (150hp Yamaha Engines)
• Boats were built specifically to offer the best comfort for divers and snorkelers, where you can roll in or use the back platform for entry by giant stride into the water.
• Boats have National Marine Park Permits. Part of the proceeds contribute to caring for the reefs.
• Boats having the National Marine Park Permits allow us to dive anywhere inside this protected area, all while respecting the annual reef closure rotation (check map calendar) and weather report.
• Regular safety inspections completed by the harbor master to assure we have the necessary first aid kits, GPS equipment, oxygen, life jackets, vhf radio and extinguishers on board.
• For your comfort we have a bathroom on board and a very stable ladder to exit from the water.
• Our boats are available for up to 12 passengers.
